About

Stadt-Gut-Hotel Bogota - Berlin

Stadt-Gut-Hotel Bogota is a two-star property with 115 rooms in the heart of Berlin’s Charlottenburg district. The hotel occupies an old building that has hosted guests for decades, and its decor reflects that heritage — think grand staircases, high ceilings, and quirky artistic touches scattered through the public areas.

Location is the big draw. The hotel sits on Schlüterstrasse, a quiet side street just off the busy Kurfürstendamm shopping boulevard. The Savignyplatz S-Bahn station is roughly a five-minute walk away, and the Uhlandstrasse U-Bahn is even closer, giving easy access to the rest of the city. Breakfast is served each morning and is included in the room rate.

In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Superb central location — A five-minute stroll from the Savignyplatz S-Bahn and close to the Uhlandstrasse U-Bahn, plus within walking distance of the Kurfürstendamm shopping area.
  • Historic character — The building’s long history and old-world decor are frequently praised, with guests noting the visual interest of the arty pieces and the traditional feel.
  • Friendly, helpful staff — Guests describe the reception team as responsive, friendly, and multilingual, with mentions of excellent language skills including Russian.
  • Breakfast included — The morning buffet is included in the room rate and generally well regarded, giving a solid start to a busy day.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Wi-Fi not universally praised — While the hotel lists Wi-Fi as an amenity, at least one guest felt the free Wi-Fi was lacking. Connection quality may be inconsistent.
  • Simple rooms and shared facilities — Rooms are described as clean but sober, and the hotel offers shared showers and toilets in some categories—so this is not a modern luxury stay.
  • Breakfast quality can be average — While most guests find the breakfast good, one reviewer called it 'average,' so expectations should be set accordingly.
  • Not in the absolute city center — Although in a good location, the hotel is not in the historic core, and some guests note you’re not in the epicenter—it’s a short ride to major sights.

“A traditional hotel in a lovely old building, close to the main shopping area. Easy access to the S-Bahn (my EurRail pass was accepted), and within walking distance of many local facilities, including the Berlin Zoo. The hotel is also near the first stop for the Hop-On/Hop-Off bus, which I used over two days. The room was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was sparkling. Reception staff were responsive, though a little reserved. The arty pieces around the hotel and in the breakfast area were visually interesting. I loved the old feel and history of the place, and the central open areas. I would definitely come back. Good price for a room that included breakfast, which set me up for a full day.”

“After several trips to Berlin, Hotel Bogota was a real surprise. The staff spoke good English and German and were very friendly, with excellent service. The rooms were simple but clean, the beds were very comfortable, and so were the shared showers and toilets. Breakfast was excellent.”

8.2Verified guest

“Everything, and above all the feeling of a long tradition of hospitality and graciousness. And the memory of its changeable history.”
